Introduction

Bishvil is a cycling and hiking navigation app for Israeli trails. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using Bishvil, you agree to this policy.

Data We Collect

We may collect the following types of data:

• Account and profile data: display name, bio, ride types, skill level, pace, gender, birth year, phone number, premium status, and preferences
• App usage metrics: app opens, map opens, navigation sessions, GPX sessions, offline downloads and use, feed opens, event creation and joining
• Location data: used while the app is active for navigation, map display, route progress, distance filtering, and offline map functionality
• GPX files you choose to load for navigation and route display
• Push notification token for delivering app notifications
• Premium and offline map status

Location and Routes

Bishvil uses your device location while you are actively using the app — for navigation, map display, route progress tracking, and distance-based features. Bishvil does not continuously store your riding routes or background location history.

How We Use Data

We use your data to:

• Provide and operate the app's core features
• Enable navigation, route following, and offline map functionality
• Send push notifications
• Improve app performance, reliability, and user experience
• Understand how features are used

Third-Party Services

Bishvil relies on third-party infrastructure to operate. These services may process some of your data under their own privacy policies:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and user profile storage
• RevenueCat — subscription management, purchase validation, and premium entitlement management
• Firebase / Google — app distribution and related services
• Mapbox or equivalent tile providers — map rendering and tile delivery
• Expo Push Notifications — delivery of push notifications

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your personal information with third parties except through the infrastructure services listed above, which process data solely to operate the app.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely and linked to your account. We use reasonable measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting support@bishvil.app. Some records may be retained where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or billing purposes.

Children

Bishvil is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the effective date when changes are made. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
